This piece is a reflection of the 2020s so far and the navigation of this period as someone also navigating their twenties and all the new responsibilities and discoveries about yourself you make during this time.
2020s has been a chaotic time so far with Covid, multiple lockdowns, protests, riots, wars, political unrest, extreme weather, rise in Ai (list can go on but really who has the time) alongside all this it’s been a time of personal growth ; moving out of my parents house then back after graduation, going to university and forming new friendships then graduating, loss and grief, discovering myself and navigating the feeling of being behind in life and new to adulthood.

This piece was a chance to reflect on all change this period has brought both in myself and the world and even though the world can seem chaotic and unpredictable we are doing our best and it’s ok to feel overwhelmed because it is an overwhelming time.

I also printed this piece onto fabric using @magictextilesuk who did a fab job, so this piece could act as a tapestry telling the tale of the 20s

Since graduation I haven’t really done much personal work so this was a great lil project to do a bit of reflection and get back into what I love.
